Sammy Bananas - Move Your Body
Our great buddy Sam has just released his first original track on Fool's Gold Records and it's so good. He asked us to do a Smalltown Romeo remix which is cool - and there are also remixes by Cassian and Toy Selectah. The Cassian mix is great. Anyways - check out the release and support great independent music.

Jackie Shane
The CBC Radio's Inside the Music aired this great feature documentary on the underrated R&B legend, Jackie Shane. Although he was American born, he made a notable contribution to the 1960’s Canadian music scene. Aside from being a seriously talented performer, Jackie attracted attention for his cross-dressing, openly gay ways.
This doc sheds some light on the otherwise very mysterious figure (he doesn’t even have a Wikipedia page!) There are still many unknowns about what happened to Jackie in the end, but he left behind some sick tunes.
Here is the only known footage of Jackie, singing Rufus Thomas’ Walking the Dog.
I Got Mine: The story of Jackie Shane Produced & narrated by Elaine Banks (via the CBC).
